How is Transition different from school? Part 2

Trainees from St Marys and Campbelltown NOVA Transition outlets have been pondering the differences between school and life at NOVA Transition. You can read St Marys' take on the subject here. Meanwhile enjoy Campbelltown trainees' creative approach:

A day in a life: Transition (versus school)

No glitter or crayons, assignments or tests
No Sir, Madams or Miss
No hands up or late notes
No bullies or cool kids.

No letters sent home for being naughty kids
No more textbooks or pencil cases
No more teachers’ dirty looks
Five days of school and uniforms are out.

Because now we’re in Transition, the adult comes out.

Just like a job, you phone if you’re sick.
And bring in a medical certificate to know it’s no trick.

We go to work experience to learn on the job,
Wearing appropriate work attire, so we don’t look like a slob.

We build relationships for work
And learn to talk in the lunchroom without looking like a dork.

We train to be independent by foot, bus or train.
But we’d better find another job if we need a plane.

We learn skills that are useful for life and for work.
NOVA Transition is really useful if you want a job.
