NOVA Transition Campbelltown – a local leader in preparing young adults with disabilities for work

Campbelltown NOVA Transition has been preparing young adults for employment since 2007. This year we have 23 trainees who work within a team environment to develop social skills, workplace etiquette, and take on leadership roles. Growth of the Campbelltown program has been steady and strong, from just three trainees in 2007 to now accepting trainees from around the entire Macarthur District.

Our program caters for a range of abilities and includes young people with barriers associated with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, hearing impairment, learning disability, mental illness, intellectual disability, physical disability and chronic medical conditions.

Trainees love the number of local work-experience opportunities provided by NOVA Transition. They also enjoy the hands-on cooking skills we learn … and eating the results!

Here at Campbelltown we have great support from local businesses, which provide work placements and industry visits. Many trainees find open employment through their work experience placements. We’re also supported by Campbelltown Police, and community groups such as Trackside, Headspace, Lifeline and the Red Cross.
