NOVA Transition Campbelltown – a local leader in preparing young adults with disabilities for work

Campbelltown NOVA Transition has been preparing young adults for employment since 2007. We’ve grown steadily from just three trainees in 2007 to now accepting trainees from around the entire Macarthur District. Our trainees work in a team environment to develop social skills and workplace etiquette, and take on leadership roles.

Our school leaver employment supports (SLES) cater for a range of abilities. Campbelltown trainees include young people with barriers associated with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, hearing impairment, learning disability, mental illness, intellectual disability, physical disability and chronic medical conditions.

Among comprehensive range of supports we provide at NOVA Transition Campbelltown, work experience is one of the most popular. We have great support from local businesses, and our trainees love the opportunity to experience a variety of workplaces. Many trainees find open employment through their work experience placements.

We also focus a lot on helping our trainees develop greater independence. They enjoy the hands-on activities such as travel training, money management, cooking – and eating the results! We understand that these life skills are all part of finding and keeping a job.
