Work experience leads to dream jobs at NOVA Transition Richmond

NOVA Transition Richmond trainees are a great group of young people who love doing work experience. This is a vital part of NOVA’s school leaver employment supports because it shows exactly what it’s like to be a part of the workplace. Trainees experience employer expectations, role requirements and the realities of OH&S, arriving on time and relationships with colleagues.

The Richmond area has a great community of employers who are generous with their time and offer realistic and enjoyable work-experience opportunities. Many of our trainees find and keep a job through work placements.

One of the Richmond graduates, Katrina, is now employed in care work. Many of the staff have taken her under their wing and she is excited about work. Another past trainee, Chris, recently started at a large local retailer. This is his dream job! It’s so exciting when the current trainees go in to shop there – Chris can’t wipe the smile off his face, he’s so proud to be an employee.
